The Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Buds 2 have gone official at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is a major upgrade over the previous Flip 2, packing some notable performance and reliability improvements.
The Galaxy Buds 2 is the successor to Samsung’s popular Galaxy Buds Plus from 2020. They have been improved by Samsung in every key department, including sound quality and battery life.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 Packs Major Durability Improvements
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 has received some significant improvements in its third iteration. It now features a 6.7-inch foldable Dynamic AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, while the front houses a slightly 1.9-inch AMOLED cover display. The outer display can be used for checking unread notifications and messages.
The flip phone features an IPX8 water-resistance certification, which means it is water-resistant. The phone also features Samsung’s new armor aluminum frame that’s up to 10 percent more durable. The cover display of the phone is protected by the more durable Gorilla Glass Victus, while Gorilla Glass DX protects the camera setup at the rear.
Samsung has also managed to make the Flip 3 more compact than the Flip 2. It is now 1.3mm shorter, 1.4mm narrower, and 0.3mm thinner.
The Galaxy Z Flip 3 houses a dual-camera setup at the rear, including a 12MP f/1.8 primary shooter with OIS and a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide shooter. For selfie purposes, there’s a punch-hole in the folding display that houses a 10MP f/2.4 sensor.
Other key specs of the Galaxy Z Flip can be found below:
- Snapdragon 888 chipset
- 8GB RAM, 128/256GB storage

Samsung has improved the Flex mode on the Galaxy Z Flip 3. It now works with more third-party apps from Microsoft, TikTok, and Spotify to deliver a better user experience. Unlike the Galaxy Z Fold 3, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 does not feature S Pen support.
Samsung is marketing the Galaxy Z Flip 3 as a fashion accessory, which is why it will offer it in seven different colors—Cream, Green, Lavender, Phantom Black, Gray, Pink, and White—with a two-tone finish.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 will retail for $999 in the US. In Europe, the device will retail for €1,049/£949
Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Features ANC and Long Battery Life
The major highlight of the Galaxy Buds 2 is that it supports Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which its predecessor lacked. Samsung claims the Galaxy Buds 2 can offer up to five hours of music playback on a single charge. This can be further extended to a totalidade of 18 hours with the bundled charging case. Without ANC, the battery life jumps to eight hours and 28 hours, respectively.
Samsung has also worked on the build quality, and it claims the Galaxy Buds 2 are its lightest and smallest earbuds yet.
For improved sound quality, the Galaxy Buds 2 features an 11mm woofer along with a 6.5mm tweeter in each earbud. It also features IPX2 splash-resistance certification and Bluetooth 5.2. The bundled carrying case can be charged via USB-C or wirelessly.
Samsung will offer the Galaxy Buds 2 in Graphite, White, Olive, and Lavender colors. In Europe, the Galaxy Buds 2 will be available for €149. In the US, the earbuds will be priced at $159.
