Bandcamp introduces a queuing feature for its albums and tracks on its mobile app. Here’s how to try it for yourself.
While Bandcamp doesn’t have an exhaustive song library to rival music streaming juggernauts like Apple Music and Spotify, the platform does have a certain charm. Indie artists can sell tracks and albums without a big corporation swiping most of the revenue, and the environment seems a little more creator-friendly than some others.
However, Bandcamp doesn’t only lack content, but it also lacks certain features as well. Previously, queuing songs or albums wasn’t possible in the mobile app—but that has finally changed. Let’s discuss Bandcamp’s new queuing feature and how it works.
How to Queue Songs and Albums in the Bandcamp Mobile App
While Bandcamp does allow you to stream certain songs—and often entire albums—queuing only works with content that’s in your collection (songs you’ve purchased). If you haven’t bought anything on the platform, now might be a good time to start purchasing music.
Here’s how to add a song or album to your Bandcamp mobile app queue:
- Launch the Bandcamp mobile app and tap the Heart icon.
- Select collection.
- Choose the album you want to view or queue.
- Tap queue to add the album. Alternatively, tap the More options button beside a song and select add to queue to add a specific track.
You can view your queue by tapping on the track that’s currently playing in the bottom-right corner. From here, you can tap queue to access the list, which you can clear by tapping clear queue or rearrange by pressing and holding the button beside a song and dragging it into the appropriate position.
Alternatively, if you want to remove a track, you can do so by swiping right to left on and queued entry and tapping Remove.
Bandcamp Is Great for Music Enthusiasts
Bandcamp may not have a fraction of the songs that other services offer, but the platform seems more focused on supporting artists than dominating the music streaming landscape. Because the company encourages paying for specific content, Bandcamp may not be ideal for the casual listener.
However, new features, such as queuing, help make the product more accessible and bring it closer to becoming a viable alternative to some of the more popular music streaming services.
